It’s almost a guarantee that anyone looking for a new car also has a smartphone. Even if your phone is 2, 3, or 4 years old, you will probably be able to connect it to most modern cars. The 2021 Toyota Camry is one such car, as it is built with both Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® so both android owners and iPhone owners can connect their phones to it. Learn more about the connection options by reading the rest of this post or by visiting Ammaar’s Toyota Vacaville in Vacaville, California!
Setting up Android Auto™ is simple. Just bring a charging cable that works with your phone to your car. Turn your car on, but stay in park so your car and phone can communicate with each other. Plug your charging cable into the front USB port in your car and into your phone, then respond to the on-screen prompts. If your android is a few years old, you may need to download the Android Auto™ app.
Similar to the instructions for Android Auto™, you will need your iPhone charge cable. Only attempt to set up Apple CarPlay® when your car is on, but parked. Follow the instructions on the prompts that display on your iPhone and your vehicle’s touchscreen to complete setup.
As soon as your phone is connected, keep it plugged in and put it somewhere safe so it doesn’t slide around or disconnect while you drive. Use the icons on your infotainment screen to navigate your applications. You can listen to music apps, radio apps, audiobook apps, use navigation apps, listen to podcasts, and even call people in your contacts with ease while your phone is connected to your 2021 Toyota Camry. Remember to drive safe!
