The 2020 Toyota Avalon is an outstanding choice for entry-level luxury sedan shoppers, with its elegant styling, impressive driving dynamics, an upscale and roomy interior, advanced multimedia and safety features, and a wide array of premium amenities. You can also get an all-wheel drive system for the 2020 Avalon.
Toyota is making an all-wheel drive system available for the Toyota Avalon for the 2020 model-year. It’s called the Dynamic Torque Control AWD system. This is the first time that the Avalon is offering an all-wheel drive system.
The big advantage of the Dynamic Torque Control AWD system compared to many other all-wheel drive systems is that it maximizes fuel economy, while still providing superb traction. When enhanced traction is needed, the system can channel up to 50% of the torque from the engine towards the rear wheels. It does this when it detects wheel slippage or when accelerating from a start. In normal driving situations, the system is disengaged from the rear drive axle for optimal efficiency. However, when elevated traction is needed again, the system can quickly re-engage. Another positive attribute for the Avalon AWD is that it doesn’t sacrifice the vehicle agility, cabin quietness, passenger space, trunk space, and ride comfort of the Avalon FWD model.
