How to Wash the Bed of your Toyota Tacoma

Ever get worried about how dirty your truck bed is getting? If you are, cleaning a truck bed isn’t too difficult. Of course, if you have an older truck with holes rusted through the bed, you might have a tougher time, but here are some tips on how you can get the bed of your Tacoma nice and clean. Feel free to come and see our stock of Toyota trucks and other vehicles at Toyota of Vacaville in Vacaville, California today!

What Tools can Help me Clean my Tacoma?

If you have a pressure washer, you have most of the tools you need to clean out a truck bed already. If you don’t, consider going to a hardware store and picking up a hand-pump garden sprayer. They’re usually white and have a long spray nozzle. They usually come in 1-2 gallons, and are incredibly portable, making cleaning a truck bed easier. Use a mixture of all-purpose soap and water and spray the bed from the cabin end to the tailgate end. This is always easiest if you already have a bed liner in your Tacoma.

How Do I Get Tough Grease and Dirt out of my Truck Bed?

If a stream of pressurized water isn’t enough, find a push broom with a long handle that has nylon bristles. Nylon bristles will be soft enough to avoid scratching your paint or liner while still having the durability to break up tough dirt. Spray the bed of your truck down with soapy water a few times so everything gets coated and dirt starts to loosen up. Climb up into the truck bed and scrub the entire bed from cabin to tailgate. Pressure wash everything off and you should be good to dry!

To prevent tough cleaning jobs, get a spray-in bedliner for your Tacoma. Visit or contact us at Vacaville Toyota for advice on bedliner suggestions.
