Ice skating is one of the most fun winter activities to enjoy during the cooler months. Even though we’re located in California doesn’t mean we don’t get to take part in cold-weather activities. Vacaville Ice Sports hosts a variety of activities, including figure skating and ice hockey. They also feature public skating during the entire year, even during the scorching summer months! Public skating hours vary by day, so be sure to check the website to see when it’s open. Admission costs $13 with skate rental or $10 without skate rental for adults, and $11 with skate rental or $8 without skate rental for children ages 12 and under.
If outdoor skating is what you’re looking for, Napa on Ice is the place for you. It’s the only outdoor ice skating rink in Napa Valley, and it’s open from mid-November until January 7, 2018, including holidays. Be sure to check the website to find out the hours, which can range from noon to 10:00 p.m., depending on the day. Tickets cost $13 for unlimited skate (no ins and outs) and skate rental.
Walnut Creek on Ice is open now through January 15, 2018 with hours varying depending on the day and other events going on. Admission costs $12 during the week, unless it’s during the holiday season, when it costs $15 (the same as typical weekend admission). Check out the website for a calendar of open skate hours.
Open now through January 15, 2018, the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink is an outdoor skating rink near the Theatre of Lights in Old Sacramento. Admission costs $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 6 and under (including skate rental).
