2017 Prius c Updates and Release Date
The Prius c is Toyota’s most affordable hybrid to date, perfect for city drivers looking for an economical vehicle that can fit in those “compact only” parking spaces. Thanks to its clever design and tried-and-true Toyota hybrid technology, the Prius c provides a dynamic driving experience that is hard to compete with. For year 2017, the Prius c gets a big safety addition plus refreshed styling to go along with its clever interior design.
New Safety System
For year 2017, the Prius c gets the Toyota Safety Sense-C system standard, which combines a trio of driver assist technologies plus automatic emergency braking for a more comprehensive approach to avoiding road hazards. Toyota Safety Sense-C is made up of the following safety features:
- Pre-Collision System – Using a camera and laser beam technology, the Pre-Collision System scans for vehicles ahead and uses audio and visual alerts if it senses there could be a collision.
- Lane Departure Alert – Uses camera technology to detect visible white and yellow lane markers on the road. If the system senses the car is drifting out of the lanes, it warns the driver with an audio and visual alert.
- Automatic High Beams – Using an in-vehicle camera, AHB detects the headlights of oncoming traffic and automatically switches between high beams and low beams.
Refreshing New Style
Not only did the 2017 Prius c get a new safety suite, it also got some updated stylings as well. Giving the Prius c a sporty new attitude is a newly redesigned front fascia, rear bumper, side rocker panels, and a blacked-out rear spoiler. All trims of the Prius c also now come standard with alloy wheels.
