Features of the 2021 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road
The RAV4 has always been a popular SUV option from Toyota since it came on the scene decades ago. Every year though, they are getting more capable, more powerful, and more interesting. In 2021, you can get two very interesting trims with the Adventure and the TRD Off-Road trims. Learn about these trims and their differences as we explore the features of the 2021 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road and Adventure trims.
What is the 2021 RAV4 Adventure trim?
If you are looking to get started in the world of off-road or just want a more capable and sportier looking RAV4, then the Adventure trim may be a wise choice. It slots in right above the XLE Premium trim and right below the TRD Off-Road trim which we will talk about more in a minute.
The Adventure trim adds several features including a unique split-bar grille, active grille shutters, an engine oil cooler, automatic transmission cooler, an upgraded 150-amp alternator, roof rails, unique badging, an orange-accented interior, and an optional two-tone exterior. Of course, you also get standard all-wheel drive with dynamic torque vectoring with downhill assist control too.

What elevates the RAV4 TRD Off-Road trim above the Adventure trim?
Most of the features on the Adventure trim carry over to the TRD Off-Road trim except for a few extras like the orange-accented interior for red. The TRD Off-Road takes the off-road aspect of its name a little more seriously. One place where that is evident is the tires. Instead of 19-inch wheels, the TRD Off-Road has 18-inch wheels to give itself more rubber, and for this trim, those tires are special Falken all-terrain tires.
Additionally, the TRD Off-Road trim adds a special TRD-tuned suspension with unique painted shocks. This trim also adds some specialized TRD branded elements including a cargo liner, all-weather floor mats, a stamped stainless steel front skid plate, and badging. The TRD Off-Road also comes with integrated LED fog lights with a black trim.
