The 2017 Toyota Avalon is available with either a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine, which is able to produce 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft torque. Drivers can choose among Eco, Normal, and Sport modes, depending on the driving conditions. Otherwise, the Avalon also comes in a hybrid model with a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine and a high-torque electric motor able to achieve EPA-estimated 40 mpg.
