The new Tacoma comes standard with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that can deliver 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can also opt for the available 3.5-liter V6, which offers 178 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a standard 6-speed Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), though the V6 engine can be paired with an optional 6-speed manual transmission.
Towing capacity for the 2020 Toyota Tacoma
All V6 Tacoma models come equipped with the Tow Package, which includes a number of features that are designed to enhance the towing experience. The Class IV receiver hitch and 4 & 7-pin connector with converter make it possible to tow, while Trailer-Sway Control improves confidence when towing. Also included are the following: a 130-amp alternator, an automatic transmission fluid cooler, an engine oil cooler, and a power steering cooler.
