Each time Toyota comes out with a new vehicle it’s better than the last. The same can be said for the 2018 Tundra. We can’t wait until it arrives at our dealership, so we’ve decided to tell you about its towing capacity and performance.
Truck people know that having a truck capable of towing all of your stuff is one of the most helpful things in life. Imagine trying to haul everything with a hitch on your Prius! Now, we know that the Prius wasn’t made for towing or hauling, but you get the picture. When it comes to getting the best performance and the best towing out of your truck, you cannot go wrong with the all-new 2018 Toyota Tundra. Until it arrives here at Toyota Vacaville, check out our inventory of 2017 Tundra models which we know you’ll love just as much.
Tundra Towing Capacity
Towing and hauling comes second nature to the 2018 Tundra. Some might even say that it was built strictly for towing. With revolutionary features such as staggered, outboard-mounted shocks, a TripleTech™ frame with an integrated hitch receiver that uses 12 high-strength bolts integrated into the frame, it’s easy to see why anyone would say that. All of these amazing features, plus the Tundra’s i-FORCE 5.7L V8 mean the Tundra is capable of towing over 10,000 lbs.!
An available integrated Trailer Brake Controller/Trailer-Sway Control system ensures that no matter how big your cargo is, you’ll never have to worry about your trailer swaying out of control. The brake controller allows you to adjust the amount of trailer braking based on how much weight you’re hauling. When things get heavy, crank up the trailer brakes and take some of the work off of your Tundra.
Tundra Performance
The 2018 Tundra has been given powerful front brakes that are the largest in its class. These brakes come in handy while towing and controlling your trailer. In addition to large brakes, the 2018 Tundra has a rear differential with a massive 10.5-inch ring gear. This allows for use of an aggressive 4.30 rear axle ratio to help handle the impressive torque the Tundra cranks out.
Speaking of torque, the 2018 Tundra is able to produce up to 401 lb-ft of torque with its 5.7L V8 behemoth under the hood. This beast also boasts an impressive 381 horsepower! When paired with Double Overhead Cams, a 32-valve head design, and Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing and your Tundra will be hauling space shuttles to and from the launch pad.
We could go on and on about the 2018 Toyota Tundra, but sadly we need to stop here. For now, anyway.
